Production cinema booking platform with real-time seat availability over WebSockets, Stripe payments, and Redis-cached APIs serving 10,000+ monthly users.

The problem

Cinema customers need to see seats disappear the moment someone else books them, and payments must never double-sell a seat.

How it works

  • Real-time seat maps. WebSockets push availability changes to every open session.
  • Booking APIs. RESTful endpoints for authentication, seat allocation, payments and booking workflows, integrated with Stripe and handling 1,000+ daily transactions.
  • Performance. Query tuning with SQLAlchemy plus Redis caching cut API response times by 25%.

Delivery

Containerised with Docker and deployed on AWS EC2, with automated build, test and deploy pipelines in GitHub Actions. The platform serves 10,000+ monthly users.
